Grace excludes boasting
Humanity is spiritually dead and cannot manufacture reconciliation. God acts because of His mercy, gives life in Christ, and saves by grace through faith.
Even faith is not a wage paid to God. It is the empty hand that trusts His promise and receives His gift.
Grace creates a new workmanship
Paul does not stop at ‘not of works.’ The saved are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works God prepared.
Works are not the root of salvation, but they are expected fruit. A grace that never changes direction is not Paul’s grace.
Grace teaches holiness
Titus describes grace appearing, bringing salvation, and training believers to deny ungodliness. Grace pardons and disciplines.
Apostolic preaching should never make obedience the price of grace or use grace as an excuse to resist the Lord who saves.
