What the objection is claiming

Paul’s reshaped monotheistic confession is read as excluding Jesus from God’s identity.

Begin with the text

1 Corinthians 8:6

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Open full referenceChristian confession centers all things in one God and one Lord Jesus Christ without adding another deity.

How the passages answer it

Paul is not adding a second deity. He confesses one divine source and one divine Lord through whom all things exist, placing Jesus within the unique Creator identity while preserving incarnational relation.
